Argentina - Mendoza

The City of Mendoza is the most important in the Cuyo region and is the capital of the province bearing the same name. Famous for its Aconcagua mountain, malbec wines, and for being the cradle of the heroic deeds of the Liberator, General San Martín, father of the Argentine nation, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Argentina - Mendoza Nestled in the foothills of the Andes mountains, the city is located in an incredible manmade oasis by way of the Mendoza and Tunuyán rivers, which have been wisely channelled into a huge irrigation system that gives life to everything all that can be seen.
 
The climate in Mendoza is moderate to temperate, although its mountains provide a certain degree of aridity. Summer temperatures range between 18-33ºC; days are very hot and nights are fresh. In the winter, the ski season, minimum temperatures drop to 3ºC whereas maximum temperature is 16ºC.
 
The Wine Route is the most traditional attraction in Mendoza. Visitors may visit several wineries tasting the wines produced at the local vineyards that have made the region famous worldwide.
 
The local slogan “the land of good sunshine and good wine” is a perfectly accurate way to describe Mendoza.

The City of Mendoza

Argentina - Mendoza - City of Mendoza The city tour of Mendoza encompasses the main attractions of the city in the administrative, commercial, cultural, historical and recreational sectors. Highpoints will be the main churches and squares, the museums, General San Martín park, the Alameda (poplar cove), the San Francisco ruins, the General San Martín park and Cerro de la Gloria hill panoramic viewpoint. There will be opportunities to stroll in the parks and enjoy the unique wooded environments

Wines and Wineries

Ariannin - Mendoza - Wines and Wineries Mendoza is famous worldwide for its quality wines. This tour offers the chance to know about and understand the peculiarities of the major wineries in the region.
 
The province of Mendoza has a particular tradition in winemaking. The combination of its soils, climate and geographical location are the main reasons why the wine industry has established in this province. This excursion takes you on a journey to the vineyards of some of the best wineries in Argentina. You will be able to amble around the installations and understand the secrets of winemaking and participate in wine tasting.
 
Later the tour will continue to an olive oil factory where you will be able to taste exquisite oils and olives. The tour will end with a visit Carrodilla church where you will be able to admire the image of the ‘Patroness of the Vineyards’ that is steeped in history, myths and legends.

High Mountain

Ariannin - Mendoza - High Mountain The excursion begins in Mendoza through an area of farms and vineyards that continues by skirting the winding course of the Mendoza river with views of El Cordón de Plata mountain range. Leaving the lowlands behind you will to enter the pre-Andean foothills. The first stop will be in Potrerillos, a small mountain town, with weekend residences belonging to the inhabitants of Mendoza. The following section of the route leads to Uspallata, framed by mountainous landscapes with changing colours, filled with varied formations and many tunnels en route.
 
The trip continues towards several other small mountain towns, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas, Penitentes, until reaching the ruins of Puente del Inca, a place filled with natural and strange formations that has thermal waters. Aconcagua (the giant watcher), the highest mountain in South America, will become a distant companion during this part of the journey while you travel towards Las Cuevas and the border with Chile at an altitude of 3150m (11,150ft). If the climate and the route conditions allow then the tour will continue through a secondary road until arriving at El Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer), an imposing monument devoted to peace, found among the high summits. From here the tour will return to the city of Mendoza.

Cacheuta Thermal Spa

Ariannin - Mendoza - Cacheuta Thermal Spa A a visit to a geothermal spa for relaxation and revival. You will travel about 38km (25 miles) to Termas Cacheuta, a thermal water park that exploits the natural hot springs at Cacheuta on the Mendoza River in the foothills of the Andes. The resort has various thermal pools, both open and covered, at different temperatures ranging from 18º-39ºC. You will be able to bathe in the pool of your choice while admiring the surrounding landscapes. The facilities that you may make use of during your visit include a natural steam cavern, waterfalls, Jacuzzis, various types of showers, a cold spring water pool to provide contrast!, natural solarium and a thermal water swimming pool.
